Frank's Motivation

2 and 2

Every single day, more and more chores and responsibilities pile up in our lives, and I am always looking at ways to help lighten the burden. It's difficult to try and take on everything at once and that is why I want to ask everyone this month to try 2 little things to help chisel away at everyone's ever-growing To-Do list!

If it takes less then 2 minutes...DO IT IMMEDIATELY! I can't tell you how often I spend more time thinking about what needs to get done or procrastinating about the issue rather then just getting it done and over with. I'm not saying it's going to take 2 minutes to wash your car or cook dinner, but there are things that can get accomplished in that short of time that make a big difference.

For example you could:

-Organize your mail

-Write down your food journal

-Take out the trash

-Ask someone about their day

-Walk the cart back to the grocery store

There is always a million things that need to get done whether at home, work, or in your personal life. It can be overwhelming when you realize how much has to get done. Instead of focusing on everything that needs to get done in your life, simply pick 2 things a day and focus on those. You won't be disappointed, because you have taken care of those two things during the day and it will start chipping away from your much longer list. Accomplishing at least 2 tasks a day makes everything more manageable and easier to complete.

Power Performer
of the Month:
Lisa West

Not the usual client, Lisa West, is a local business owner of Charyli on Park Avenue, who originally said that she would never workout! However, Lisa decided to make the commitment to working out and getting healthier regardless of how busy she is and how little time she has to herself.

As a mother of 4 amazing kids, she is always on the go but still manages to fit in her workouts and her improvements have been incredible. Her increased strength, confidence, and fitness level have been out of this world and it's all do to her new, healthy lifestyle change!

Congratulations

Lisa West

You are April's Power Performer!

Recipe of the Month

Toasted Sesame Ginger Salmon

  • 1 1/2 pounds raw salmon

    1/4 cup olive oil
    2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
    2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoon soy sauce
    2 garlic cloves, grated
    1 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
    1-2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
    4 green onions, sliced

    sesame ginger honey glaze
    1/4 cup honey
    1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
    1 teaspoon soy sauce
    1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
    1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

    directions:

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack over top. Spray the rack with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl or baking dish, combine olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, brown sugar and whisk well until combined. Add salmon to the dish or place everything in a ziplock bag, then refrigerate and marinate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the broiler in your oven. (Or preheat your grill, etc if you prefer to use something else.)

Remove salmon with kitchen tongs and place directly on the wire rack. Sprinkle with a little bit of salt and pepper, then place directly under the broiler. Cook for 10-12 minutes, depending on the salmon's thickness (our's was just about an inch thick), until opaque and easily flakable with a fork. You can flip the salmon halfway through cooking if desired.

Remove and serve immediately, with a sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds, green onions and the glaze below.

    sesame ginger honey glaze
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Pour over salmon.

Enjoy!
