Drama and the Digital Age

Mike LangloisJoin us as Mike Langlois, LICSW helps us to navigate the present and future of social media in our personal, educational, and recreational lives. Mike has vast experience and depth of knowledge in utilizing, teaching, and consultation around social technology. He is a teaching associate in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and an adjunct faculty member of Boston College School of Social Work. Mike is cofounder of Sparta Social Networks and is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice providing individual, family therapy and consultative services. He received his MSW from Smith College.

Participants will learn about social media and relationships, how to maximize the use of social media in an intelligent and effective manner, focusing on:

» Tools of the Trade
» Understanding the Changing Nature of Privacy
» Opportunities and Risk Management, fact vs. fiction

Join us on Wednesday, November 20th, 3:00 to 5:00pm in Bush Memorial Hall on the Troy campus. This event is free and open to all students, staff, and faculty.

17th Annual International Foodfest

International Foodfest

International Foodfest is an annual potluck event that celebrates diversity. The event will take place on the Albany campus on Wednesday, November 13th from 12:30 to 2:30pm in the Kahl Campus Center, 2nd floor landing.

IN ATHlETICS...

Men's Soccer clutches1st regular season Skyline Conference title and will host the semifinals at ACP on Wednesday, November 6th.

The Skyline Conference Fall Festival will be hosted at Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, November 9th featuring tournament championships for Men's and Women's Soccer and Women's Volleyball. A fan bus will be available for the first 50 students that sign up (see Athletics Office).

Upcoming Travel Abroad Opportunity

U.K. Cultural ImmersionU.K Cultural Immersion: Interdisciplinary Perspectives (HUM 348)

This short-term trip will be December 27, 2013 - January 9, 2014. It combines classroom experiences with visits to museums, galleries, libraries and theatres, as well as time on your own to shop and immerse yourself in the culture.
