SAT, PSAT, ACT, Subject tests, NEW SAT, OLD SAT????

Many students and parents have questions about which tests to take and when to take them. I am always happy to answer questions about the testing process. Students can prepare for the tests by signing up for group courses or scheduling individual tutoring sessions. The next group course for the ACT begins Sept. 11th. The next group course for the new format SAT will begin in January. The current course schedule is available on the website www.LindaEdgarTutorandSATprep.com.

I am a certified teacher and Reading Specialist. The programs I offer include diagnostic placement testing for Reading and Math, individualized programs to re-teach skills, and enrichment programs. I also offer tutoring for students in grades 1-12 for assistance with homework and preparing for classroom tests.

My center is conveniently located on 45th place just a 5 minute walk from Arcadia High School.

PSAT at ARCADIA:

The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 28th. This will be a late start for any non-testers.  The PSAT is given to all Sophomores for free. If there are any non-Sophomores that would like to take the PSAT they can do so by paying $20 in the bookstore from now until October 20th.

If you have any questions, please call the Administrative Assistant of Testing-Mrs. Gann 480-484-6321.

If your student wishes to attend a four year college/university, your student should take the PSAT on October 28th. This will be preparation for the re-designed and new SAT that rolls out in March, 2015.  Students with very good GPA's (mostly A's and B's), and who did well on the PSAT as sophomores, should consider taking the present SAT at least once through the January 23rd test date.  The scores on the PSAT for juniors determine if you could be a possible National Merit Scholar, which is a source of generous scholarship money.

Sign up for the PSAT in Arcadia's bookstore by October 20
Registration cost: $20

Volleyball

Congratulations to the girls' Varsity team for defeating Higley in straight sets last Thursday night.  They were led by a balanced attack with 10 girls getting multiple kills, and outstanding defense by the entire team. The Titans are now 9-5 on the season and play Sunrise Mountain at home on Tuesday, 9/22.

Both the JV and Freshmen girls' volleyball teams suffered tough losses to a very good Higley team last Thursday night.  Both teams drop to 4-2 on the season, but they get the chance at redemption on Tuesday, 9/22 against Sunrise Mountain.

Senior, Matti Harrions, won two events.  Savanna Carlson also won two events.  Sam Milewski placed 3rd and 7th in her events and freshman, Sydney Carlson placed 3rd & 4th in her events.  All 4 of these girls were also on two champion relay teams as well. ANLC Parent Prom -
November 14
We are in the process of planning a new event this year for parents only.
Our "Blast from the Past Prom" planning is under way.  We are going for a nostalgic prom with throw back music, decorations, dresses, tuxes and more.  We have secured the venue, we have starting planning prom picture stations, shopping for decorations and thinking about cheesy prom awards.  Soon we will have a "Prom Store" on our website as well as pop-up shopping on campus.  Our busy bees have been collecting "vintage" (also know as gaudy/old school) prom dresses, tuxedo jackets, bow ties, and cumber bunds.  We want you all to dress the part, so thought we would help you out!   Start digging out your prom photos...there will be a special bonus for all of those that are submitted.

We would love to have more people involved in the planning, so please contact [email protected]
