LET'S MAKE THE SUMMER ROCK!
The School of Rock / Bedford staff is excited to announce the themes for our signature Rock Performance Program for the Summer 2014 season! With THREE different shows, we have the right program to get any kid rocking on a local stage by the start of next school year. We are now enrolling students age 7-18 on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals!!!
In our ROCK PERFORMANCE PROGRAM, students get the chance to take a weekly 45-minute private lesson with a rock star on our staff, attend a weekly group rehearsal session with other young musicians, and get ready to perform two season-ending shows! Our program gives kids the chance to rock on stage and in life. HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE GIG!

As always we offer FREE TRIAL lessons for all new students! Currently enrolled and want to sign up for a Summer show? Students need parent and staff approval to sign up for ANY of our performance programs. Every show is designed to challenge different elements of a student's musicianship, and individual student curriculum will be accommodated on the appropriate show. Remember, at School of Rock we put on shows to teach music. To ensure that every student gets the most challenging experience this Summer, STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP WITH A SECOND SHOW CHOICE!

Rehearses Tuesday nights starting June 24, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
Performs in late August or early September.
ABOUT: COLDPLAY are a British rock band formed in 1986. Heavily influenced by U2 they share similar guitar effect work, an enthusiastic front man & pop song structure. The group achieved worldwide fame with the release of their single "Yellow." The band has won a number of music awards throughout their career including eight Brit-Awards, winning Best British Group three times, five MTV Music Awards, and seven Grammy Awards from 25 nominations. Coldplay has sold more than 70 million records worldwide.
U2 formed in 1976. In their career they have released 13 albums and won 90 major awards. U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have maintained a sound built on melodic instrumentals, highlighted by The Edge's inventive guitar sound and Bono's expressive vocals.
This show is GREAT for all ages and levels and ability. Guitarists will explore exciting sound effects and riffs, piano students will become masters of the arpeggio, and vocalists will shine and be challenged by the diversity and range of Bono and Chris Martin. As always, a tight rhythm is necessary to make this show ROCK!

Rehearses Thursday nights starting June 26, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Performs in late August or early September.
ABOUT: The LEGENDARY LEAD SINGERS show will offer a wide variety of rock, highlighting some of the most notable voices of the last 50 years including Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Ann Wilson & many more! This our school's most challenging vocal show to date! Each vocal in this show has its own set of unique characteristics, and with great vocalists come great bands! The support of a great vocalist is crucial, and there is no shortage challenging and fun material in this summer show. Guitars and bassists will learn signature riffs, and drummers will work on classic rock grooves and perfectly plotted fills.
This show requires some experience and is great for students
looking to take their playing to the next level.

ABOUT: DAVE GROHL and JACK WHITE have been on the cutting edge of rock since 1990. Collectively they have won 39 different major awards and have been nominated for 138 including Grammys, MTV Awards, and American Music Awards. Each of them have had the opportunity of working with legendary rockers Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones, The Edge, Jimmy Page, David Bowie, Nirvana, and many more.
This show is your chance to dig deep into their eclectic rock catalogs! From the wildly complex to the extremely simple, these modern rock gods make creating a their sound seem easy. Take on that challenge this summer and recreate songs by some of the most beloved and admired figureheads in rock today!

ABOUT: THE ROLLING STONES are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. As a major part of the British Invasion, the Stones were instrumental in making blues a major part of rock and roll. The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. They have released twenty-nine studio albums, eighteen live albums and numerous compilations. Their estimated album sales are above 250 million.
This is a very fun summer show with a place for adult players of all ability levels. Whether you are sharpening your skills or just beginning to develop them, this show has something for everyone.

We are enrolling for four week-long sessions of Summer Camp and still have availability for all weeks. Please check out our convenient online registration for Rock N' Roll Variety, The Beatles, 90s Rock and iPod Shuffle weeks. These sessions are a great addition to any performance program this summer!
