LEVYdance brings the critically acclaimed work ROMP to the historic General's Residence at Fort Mason Center, hosting audiences in an experience that invites them from room to room, revealing fantastic surprises around every corner.

Comfort Zone, January 2013
Throughout January, LEVYdance presents weekly performances of Comfort Zone inside the Exploratorium's West Gallery Black Box. The work will integrate Benjamin Levy's participatory exhibit into an interactive performance experience. 

The Comfort Zone exhibit debuts October 22 at the Exploratorium!


In the Studio

the Salon, Saturday September 14, 8:30 PM
On September 14, LEVYdance hosts the quarterly party and art showcase, the Salon. Artists of varying disciplines are offered ten free hours of studio space to play, take risks, explore and collaborate. Each artist or group creates five minutes of new work to share at this art extravaganza! Comfy couches, free snacks, an all-night cheap cash bar, and an eclectic line-up make for one of the best performance viewing experiences in the Bay Area. Stay and shake it at the Salon's raucous post-showcase dance party!

LEVYdance is Hiring!

LEVYdance is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator/Studio Manager, a Marketing and Development Coordinator, and Artistic and Administrative Interns. All positions are integral members of the team and are invited to attend all company performances and events. Benefits include: a flexible schedule, use of and free classes at LEVYstudio, participation in the LEVYdance Summer Intensive, free entry to all performances and events, and the opportunity to gain experience working with an established, fast-paced, growing contemporary dance company.

DANCE AT MINT PLAZA

Alonzo King LINES Dance Center returns to Mint Plaza for its second year of HeART of Market: Dance, Create, Connect, a free, participatory and family friendly event, on Saturday, October 5 from 12-3 pm.

 

With over 100 participating artists of all ages, this year's event welcomes LINES Ballet company members, youth performers, and artists from their community partnerships, as well as over 50 Dance Center adult students performing Bollywood and Theater-style jazz works. LINES Ballet's pre-professional dancers from the BFA and Training Program will showcase work from their upcoming performances. Each group will incorporate a participatory component into their performance so come ready to dance and show your neighborhood pride.

 

And that's not all...
Have you ever wanted to learn Tango on your lunch break? Then join LINES Ballet Dance Center at Mint Plaza on Thursday, October 3 from 1:30-2:30 pm, and October 10 from 11:30-12:30 pm, for a demonstration and lesson by Tango & More Argentine Dance. Students from LINES Ballet's BFA and Training Program will also perform works from their upcoming fall performances.
