Worship this week - February 23rd

Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Why Be Holy?" based on Leviticus 19.1-2, 9-18. We know that Jesus summed up how we should live with two commandments, the second of which is, "Love your neighbor as yourself." What we may not remember is that this commandment didn't originate with Jesus. God gave this commandment to Moses more than a millennium before Jesus. God also told Moses why we should love our neighbor as ourselves. Because God is holy! What in the world does that mean for us?

Joan Wernick
Special guests next week!
On March 2nd, LCP president, Glenna Waller, and staff member, Marie Lou Abbott will visit us. Marie Lou grew up in Dumaguete City. Two of our church members sponsored her sister and , as a result, Marie Lou and her family found their way out of a life of poverty. She will provide powerful Witness during the service about the impact that the preschools and child sponsorship had on her life.
Saying Goodbye ...
Sundaywe are sad to say goodbye to Joan Wernick. Joan is retiring after faithfully working in our church nursery since 1984. She has loved and cared for many of our children over the years, blessing the lives of children, parents, and families. We will miss Joan and pray God's blessings for her and for much happiness in retirement.

YouthServe
The PCiS Youth Groups will be offering their time and services to help members complete projects around the house - from yard work and painting to babysitting and snow removal as part of a fundraising effort. For complete information and to sign up, visit our YouthServe webpage here or pick up a form in fellowship hall. Contact Matt Crane if you have questions.
Worship at Wingate
Please consider joining us on Sunday at 1:00pm as we minister to God's older children. Volunteers are always needed. The number of Wingate folks able to attend worship is dependent upon the number of PCIS volunteers who are able to help out. Contact Susan DeHoff with questions.
