March For Meals A Success
March for Meals, Meals On Wheels (MOW) awareness month was quite a success with 8 politicians participating in the Senior Nutrition Program on the following days:

 

March 6 - Jeannine Roe, Olympia City Council, delivered meals on an Olympia MOW route. March 19 - Tracy Moore, Shelton City Commissioner and Terri Jeffreys, Mason County Commissioner made MOW's and served lunch at the Mason County Activities Center. March 19 - Cheryl Selby, Olympia City Council learned about MOW's and served lunch at the Olympia Senior Center. March 20 - Andy Ryder, Lacey Mayor learned about MOW's and served lunch at the Lacey Senior Center. March 21 - Pete Kmet, Tumwater Mayor made MOW's and served lunch at the Lacey Senior Center; Nathaniel Jones, Olympia City Council learned about MOW's and served lunch at the Olympia Senior Center. March 31 - Karen Valenzuela, County Commissioner went on a Meals On Wheels assessment.

 

Thank you so much to these caring individuals. We had a great time hosting you and appreciated the time you took out of your schedules to visit with us!

Repurposing Auction to Benefit Senior Programs
Join us for the Repurpose Revelry on April 5th from 6 to 9pm at The Olympia Center. This fun event, emceed by Jerry Farmer from ROXY, will feature jazz music by the Greta Jane quartet, appetizers, desserts and a no-host bar. Bid on wonderful repurposed silent-auction items ranging from jewelry and clothing to furniture and household decor. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by clicking HERE or by calling us at 360.586.6181. All proceeds benefit programs of Senior Services for South Sound. 
Mothers Day Brunch Train
May 11
Celebrate Mother's Day with a scenic ride and delicious brunch on one of Washington's last remaining steam trains. The two hour ride aboard the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad will take you back in time to another era as you enjoy a vintage dining-by-rail experience, complete with white linen tablecloths, china, and impeccable wait staff in the refurbished 1920's dining car. You'll chug across wooden trestles, pass historic farms and delight in the scenery of the Chehalis River Valley. And the best part? This trip is open to ages 6 and up, so bring your children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren to share the experience. $60 members, $65 general public, $35 youth 6-10.
