After the Isla Vista massacre, Richard Martinez, father of one of the victims, said "We don't have to live like this. Too many have died. We should say
'Not one more'."
Martinez has pumped new energy into the gun violence prevention movement, telling the
Washington Post "I'm going to ask every person I can find to send a postcard to every politician they can think of with three words on it: 'Not one more'."
To act on Richard's request, the
Greenwich Council Against Gun Violence together with
The ENOUGH Campaign and the
Southwestern CT Brady Chapter will be setting up tables in Greenwich and Stamford in the coming weeks for people to sign postcards that we'll send to Senators who voted against universal background checks.
To give a local face to our 
message, we want photos of you, your family, and friends holding "Not One More" and "I vote #gunsafety" signs. From these we'll create a postcard with a montage of the photos and a demand for Congress to pass universal background checks.

ational Instant Criminal Background Check system. It's the first vote on gun safety reform in the House since the Sandy Hook shooting. We know gun laws keep us safe from gun violence. Brady background checks have blocked more than two million purchases by convicted felons, domestic abusers and other dangerous people.
With the latest shootings in Las Vegas and Oregon, Congressional action may now be possible. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is testing the waters for a vote on the universal background check bill that failed to pass last year. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi continues to say the companion House bill will pass if it's allowed to come to the floor for a vote.
We need to keep the pressure on to get Congress to act. Please take a moment to honor all those killed by gun violence and all those grieving. Take your "Not One More" photo and send it to the Greenwich Council Against Gun Violence at

Facebook page as soon as possible.
