The library will be hosting several programs to commemorate Money Smart Week including:

Extreme Couponing Class: Saturday April 5 at 1:00 pm.
Prevent Identity Theft: Tuesday, April 8 at 11:00 am.
Lunch and Learn: Basic Banking:  Friday, April 11 at 12:00 pm.
Shred-It Day: Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 am.

There will also be money themed versions of our weekly Children's programs.

Introduction to Computers  
Friday, April 4

This hands-on class is for the beginner who has little or no experience using a computer. It will introduce you to the basics  

of computer terminology and the popular word processing program

Microsoft WORD. There are no prerequisites for this class.  

Seats are limited to 5. Register at the information desk or call the library.

Is there a mistake on your credit report? When should you share your personal information?  What documents should be shredded?  Chelsea Groton Bank will provide free information,  

brochures and hand-outs on preventing and detecting identity theft.


 



            
Community Knit 
Every Thursday, 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Learn the healing and calming effects of knitting and crocheting.
Socialize with others with the same interest.
Help others by either teaching someone to knit or
making something needed by a child, a senior citizen,
or a homeless person.

Bring your knitting materials!  Some materials may be

Learn about different types of bank accounts, how to open one , cashing a check, getting out of debt, having important papers in a safe spot, or planning for your future. Chelsea

will be at the library to answer all your questions.

We will read stories about money and create our own currency

Drumming Workshop with Professor Baldwin  
Wednesday, April 9
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Learn the basics rhythms of percussion with the fabulous Dwight Baldwin! Kids of all ages are invited to drop in on the drum circle in the Community Room. This program will run for 6 weeks, and you are not required to attend every week. No registration is required.

 

  


Money Smart Week for Kids - Make a Recycled Piggy Bank   
Thursday, April 10
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Money Smart Week For Kids continues with a craft project for kids age 6 and up. Make a piggy bank out of a recycled soda bottle. Free and all materials will be provided. Children under the age of 8 may require adult assistance for this project.
