1. Register Your Interest in Benefiting from Joining MMSW's Waste Packaging and Paper Program.

Multi-Material Stewardship Western (MMSW) is a not-for-profit agency established to help fund municipal collection and processing of Saskatchewan's residential waste packaging and paper recycling. From January 1, 2015, the businesses that make or supply packaging and paper to residents will assume the responsibly for funding up to 75 per cent of efficient and effective residential recycling services for waste packaging and paper.

MMSW hosted a meeting on April 15 to introduce municipalities and First Nations collectors to MMSW and our Waste Packaging and Paper Stewardship Plan, and talk about how we will work with municipalities and First Nations collectors to help fund their recycling services for Saskatchewan on behalf of MMSW stewards. To view materials from that meeting, including the Q&A which has now been posted, click here.

Register to join the MMSW program:

Municipalities and First Nations wanting to take advantage of joining MMSW to receive up to 75 per cent funding for operating efficient and effective residential recycling services for waste packaging and paper, need to indicate their interest by filling out an information form, available by clicking here

The deadline to return the form to us by emailing it to: info@multimaterialsw.ca is May 15, 2014.

Next steps:

Once you've filled out the information form to let us know of your interest, we will provide you with a service agreement (contract).

This service agreement with MMSW will have a two-year term. The agreement will be available in May and will be sent to all municipalities and First Nations collectors that send in an information form. The service contracts will need to be signed by June 30, 2014 to align with our steward fee-setting process in preparation for program launch on January 1, 2015.
