home-working-man.jpg Our latest research shows that while Hamilton's unemployment rate seems to have steadied since the economic downturn, the participation rate of specific groups of people in the city has declined 3.8 percentage points since 2009.

Is our unemployment rate low because people are back at work, or have they become discouraged and given up their search?

Our research sheds light on who is leaving the local labour market and why the participating rate is shrinking.

Bank of Canada finds job recovery has been overstated
