SBC's Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program and Sponsors
The Springfield Ballet Company is proud to collaborate with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois to offer weekly ballet lessons to its members.

SBC Ballet Mistress Gina DeCroix Russell coordinates and oversees the Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program, and 19 SBC dancers volunteer to serve as ballet instructors for the 28 Boys & Girls Clubs dancers currently enrolled in the classes!

With help from our wonderful sponsors -- WFC Foundation , SCHEELS and Sunrise Rotary -- the Springfield Ballet Company is able to provide all participants with a snack, ballet-related activity, leotard, tights, ballet skirt, ballet shoes and dance bag for each class, free of charge. SBC dancers care for these items each week to ensure that all Boys & Girls Clubs dancers are dressed appropriately and prepared for the physical demands of a ballet class.

We really enjoy the opportunity to share our love of dance with the Boys & Girls Clubs dancers. We hope this partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs, which we've had since 2003, helps each child learn about and appreciate the fine arts - all while boosting self-esteem, individual strength and creativity. We strongly believe that ballet provides children with poise, grace, discipline, coordination, confidence, and a strong sense of self-worth. These qualities will positively affect all aspects of their lives and their future educational pursuits.

Our 2015-2016 Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program will conclude with a recital performance at The Legacy Theatre, 101 E. Lawrence, on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. Save the date!

If you are interested in supporting the SBC's Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program, please contact SBC Ballet Mistress Gina DeCroix Russell at 217-544-1967 or decroix@springfieldballetco.org.

The Springfield Ballet Company proudly presents its 41st annual production of  The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker is a timeless holiday classic that follows Clara and her Nutcracker from a lavish Christmas party to a fierce battle with the evil Mouse King, then to a magical journey through the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. The production features a cast of 137, including our Company dancers, local adult actors, young dancers from the community and professional guest artists.

Thank you to Scott Richardson for the design of our artwork.
