San Jose firefighters revive family's 2 dogs after rescue from house fire  
San Jose firefighters resuscitated two dogs Thursday afternoon after they were rescued from a burning home. Fire officials say the dogs were near death and they are crediting special pet rescue training for the dog's survival (above photo).

37 People displaced after  3 Alarm Fire in South San Jose Damages Apartment Complex
 A firefighter suffered a minor injury in a 3-alarm fire early Sunday morning that displaced 37 people and a cat.  Eight units were heavily damaged and two sustained moderate damage,      NBC Bay Area

11.5.15 Narvaez Ave             Station 33 (CLOSED)
Full first response to a mobile home on fire at the base of communications hill. First arriving Truck Co. 13 confirmed a fully involved mobile home but were unable to extinguish until a Fire Engine arrived. The fire was contained to the unit but was a total loss. 2 residents were displaced.

11.3.15  Bayhaven Dr                                                Station 16 
Structure Response to a report of an electrical issue. E16 reported light smoke in a back bedroom. The balance of a Full First Alarm Assignment was requested due to the light weight construction and blown in insulation. Red Cross assisted with 8 individuals who were displaced.
 
11.3.15  3300 Narvaez Ave                      Station 33 (CLOSED)
Full first to a report of a mobile home on fire. Arriving units confirmed a fully involved mobile home. The fire was contained to the unit. The fire was knocked down, contained and under control at 1613 hours. No injuries were reported.

11.5.15  Olin Av.                                                        Station 10
Call from an alarm company reporting fire alarm at Santana Row. Fire communications dispatched an Engine and a Truck to the fire alarm. While en route, SJPD and security reported smoke from the basement. E10 requested a Full First Alarm response. FD investigation found a working commercial dryer fire in the basement.

2nd ALARM 
11.5.15 Clarebank Wy                                             Station 31

Multiple reports of a garage fire. The first arriving unit confirmed a working garage fire. The IC requested a 2nd Alarm response at 2154 hours. Final knock down of the fire was at 2233 hours and declared under control at 2252 hours. PG&E responded to secure utilities and Board up was requested to secure the structure. No injuries were reported.

3rd ALARM

11.7.15 Walnut Blossom Dr                                    Station 35  
Full First Alarm Assignment to a report of smoke from the roof of an apartment building. T35 arrived and reported smoke and flames from a two story apartment building. The detail was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm. A roof collapse was reported prompting a the 3rd Alarm.  VTA supplied two buses to provide shelter to residents who were evacuated. Red Cross assisted with several residents who were displaced. There were no injuries reported.

11.9.15 Amberwood Lane                                       Station 23  
Full First Alarm Assignment to a report of fire in an apartment. E23 arrived and reported a working bedroom fire. Red Cross assisted with three adults who were displaced.

2nd ALARM  
11.12.15 E William St                                                Station 8  
First arriving fire unit reported a working kitchen fire on the 2nd floor of the structure. A precautionary 2nd Alarm was requested. Red Cross assisted 19 displaced residents. The Hazmat Team was requested for some gas cylinders on site.

11.9.15 Harwood Road                                              Station 9  
Single Engine dispatch to a report of a transformer explosion. Additional callers reported a gas leak with a possible gas line on fire and a full first was dispatched. Arriving units confirmed a gas line fire and requested PG&E. The fire was contained to the line. PG&E was able to cap the line and the incident was under control in 2.5 hours.

10.15.15  101 at Bernal Rd                                   Station 27

Report from CHP and citizens reporting a fully engulfed vehicle fire. SJFD Incident Commander upgraded to a Tier response for a fire that spread to the grass. The fire involved a commercial vehicle and approximately one acre of grass.


EMS-RESCUE   
11.5.15 NB 85 at Union Av                                         Station 9
Vehicle accident on viewed by COC with multiple vehicles. While en route the call was upgraded to a Rescue response for a report of patients trapped. Upon arrival, two patients were confirmed trapped and three others had self extricated.

11.7.15 Reid Hillview Airport                                    Station 16
Rescue Response to a report of a Cesna that crashed in the field at the airport. A Significant Event page was sent. An Ambulance Task Force was requested. Of the four occupants, one was treated for minor injuries. 

11.8.15 Almaden Exp @ Bose Lane                          Station 22
Communications dispatched an Engine to reports of a vehicle accident, the call was upgraded to a rescue response for reports of patients trapped.  E17 arrived on scene and confirmed 2 patients trapped and one out of the vehicle. One patient was extricated and the second patient was pronounced deceased. A total of two patients were transported to the hospital.


HAZMAT 
11.7.15 San Felipe Rd @ Meadow Lands Ln          Station 11   
Report of a single vehicle rollover accident. E11 arrived and reported that the single occupant was out of the vehicle, but it had hit a gas line and gas was leaking. After securing scene PG&E worked to mitigate the leak.


11.10.15 Rosewell Way                                              Station 2  
Fire communications received a call reporting a possible residential gas leak. Once the units arrived on scene and confirmed the gas leak fire department began to evacuate residences. PG&E arrived within 20 minutes to secure the line. No injuries were reported.
