This week South Orange County voters took to the polls for the state's primary elections. According to early estimates, a little more than 24% of the county's electorate participated, lower than the 26.5% and 30.1% for primaries in 2012 and 2010, respectively.

Turkey Trot Registration is Now Open!

In Honor of National Running Day, Registration for the 37th Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot is Now Open!
Known for its scenic coastal routes, beautiful weather, and family-friendly activities, the Dana Point Turkey Trot has become an Orange County tradition, attracting more than 17,000 participants, to our 5K, 10K, Kids' Gobble Wobble, and two-day Health and Wellness Expo.
Celebrate National Running Day by committing to participate in one of Fodor's Travel Top 10 Thanksgiving Destinations. This year's event is shaping up to be the biggest and best Turkey Trot ever. Early details on new enhancements for this year's race include new on-course entertainment, a post-race beer garden and an expanded Health & Wellness Expo.

Dana Point Historical Society Annual Scholarship Fundraiser
Please join us for a casual, fun June event that has become a Dana Point tradition. This fun event includes parking at Doheny State Beach, tours of the DSBIA Visitor Center from 5 - 6:00 pm and Jack Saunderson catering Lucy's El Patio Cafe's best Fiesta fare. There is a no host bar for "donations" and an opportunity prize raffle. Proceeds benefit two $1000.00 scholarships and you will meet the scholarship winners. We look forward to seeing you there. - Jr. Neptunes (ages 6 - 8) - Learn about marine life in the labs and take a cruise aboard the R/V Sea Explorer.
- Jr. Oceanographer (ages 9 - 12) - Learn about marine biology & oceanography. Dissect a fish, go on a tidepool walk, and head to sea on a cruise.
