Our newest awards program, "Athletes in Excellence," recognizes those athletes who possess these traits both on and off the playing field. We are currently accepting nominations from those of you who know of an athlete who dedicates their energy to their sport and to the betterment of their community. We believe it is important to recognize these athletes and their volunteer work. By doing so, we are sharing their positive impact with the next generation of elite athletes.
Do you know of an athlete who uses precious time away from training or other personal goals to volunteer with organizations or individuals to make this world a better place? Email [email protected] and tell us the story of the athlete. Why do you think they deserve to be a recipient of the "Athletes in Excellence" award?
Details and Eligibility:
- Five athletes from the United States and five international athletes will be selected to receive a $10,000 award.
- The deadline for nominations is August 15, 2014.
- Winners will be announced in Fall of 2014.
- Retired or actively competing elite athletes are eligible for nomination.
