Just four years ago, they could barely give 'em away.

 

Now, if you haven't noticed there's another high-rise apartment boom going on in downtown St. Petersburg, even as other parts of the Bay area are still struggling.

St. Petersburg's mayor says the city believes in equality for everyone, and he showed that Thursday by signing the "Freedom to Marry" pledge.

 

The pledge sends a message to lawmakers that everyone should have the right to marry the one they love.

As debate continues to swirl over how to best provide curbside recycling to residents, officials have long asserted it would be too expensive for city workers provide the service.

 

Mayor Rick Kriseman has asked them to take another look.

Tampa Tribune: Kriseman sets dates for public input on Pier

 

St. Petersburg officials are giving residents a chance to voice their opinions on how the city should proceed with replacing the iconic Pier.

 

After appointing a 21-member Pier Working Group comprised of neighborhood and business leaders, Mayor Rick Kriseman announced the city will hold five public forums throughout the city.

Tampa Bay Times: St. Petersburg council votes to sign EMS contract

 

City Council members unanimously agreed Thursday to a three-year deal over the funding of emergency medical services.

 

The deal won't become binding until approved by the Pinellas County Commission, which will likely happen later this month.
