JOE AND AMY WEIDENBACH
INDUCTED AS PATRON SAINTS

From the time their first born, Joe '10, entered Saints Peter and Paul School, Joe and Amy Weidenbach were committed to doing whatever they could to enhance the educational experience that their son, and eventually his siblings, Charlie '12, Henry '14, Grace '16, John '19, and Adrienne '22 would receive.

Recently, the Weidenbachs were honored with induction into our Patron Saints Society, a reflection of their generous financial support to our school over the past fifteen years.  However, it is as much for their donation of their time and talent that their induction is noteworthy.

When Joe Jr. started kindergarten, Amy got involved in the parish.  She taught second and sixth grade students in the REO program and has been a Baptism instructor classes with Tom Hayes since 2005.  Her work with the parish includes washing sacristy linens as well as albs and cassocks and, since, 2013, she has also served on the Parish Worship Commission.

Amy's willingness to get involved soon saw her devote her energies to the school.  Through the years she has co-chaired Fun Fair volunteers for two years, helped with Auction Acquisitions, and also wore the hats of a room mother, field trip chaperone, hot lunch server, computer aide, library helper, and greeter.

As for Joe, he is a past member of our Advancement Board, having fulfilled a three-year term.  During that time, he chaired Football Mania, a fundraiser that netted nearly $40,000 in its first year.  Joe has also been a head coach in our football program for four years having led both a Jr. Varsity and Varsity team to undefeated regular season and post-season championships.  Now that their youngest son, John, has begun playing football, it is likely he will soon return to the sidelines.  Joe has also been a presenter to our first graders addressing the topic of money and has also chaperoned an eighth grade field trip and judged numerous Lip Sync contests.

"Joe and Amy are amazing people," offered Advancement Director, Frank Glowaty. "They are always ready and willing to step up whenever the need is there," he added.

The Weidenbachs recognized early on that parents who take an active role in school can truly make a difference.  "We're grateful for this honor," said Joe, "but our children have received far more than we've ever given.   We couldn't be happier with their education in matters of the Catholic faith as well as their academic preparation."   "Fifteen years ago we knew this was the best environment we could find for our children," chimed in Amy, "and we've never been disappointed."

The Weidenbachs are the thirty-seventh school family to be inducted into the Patron Saints Society.
