Religious School Happenings
A Message from Religious School Principal, Lois Tompkins
I hope that you'll all be able to join us on Sunday (Nov. 1) with Artist-in-Residence Mordechai Rosenstein!  Please check out the flyer below under EVENTS AT THE JACKSONVILLE JEWISH CENTER for more information and opportunities with him throughout this weekend.

School will begin at 10:00 (recognizing that it may be a difficult morning to get kids ready for school after a long, sugary prior evening!), with dismissal at noon as usual.  Classes will still meet, and attendance will be taken.

Every one of our Religious Scho ol students will have the chance to create their own piece of art under the instruction of Mr. Rosenstein.   Here is the schedule for the art projects:

10:00-11:00   grades K-3 students and parents
11:00-12:00   grades 4-7 students and parents

Parents are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to join us for this part of the day!  This is a unique opportunity to work with a famous artist!

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, we will be hearing a presentation from Jagger and Sydney Leach, called "The "R" Word".  We will meet in the chapel at 4:30 as usual.  Parents are invited to come in and join us.  This is a powerful presentation for our children, and was created as a part of a mitzvah project by the Leach chidren.

Let's Support Sydney's Bat Mitzvah Project!

One of the requirements for me to become at Bat Mitzvah, is to complete a Mitzvah Project. A Mitzvah Project is just one way for me to learn and understand that we are all responsible to try to make our world a better place. For my Mitzvah Project, I have chosen to collect items that are needed for Little Star Center.

Little Star Center is a private, non-profit school that provides comprehensive, affordable, individualized education and behavioral services for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays.
