John J. Gilligan, CFLS, Participates in Newly Formed Daily Settlement Officer Program

BGD's own Certified Family Law Specialist, John J. Gilligan, is a member of the LA County Bar Association's family law executive committee (FLEXCOM), which recently formed a new Daily Settlement Officer (DSO) program in Compton.

Mr. Gilligan graciously volunteered to be the DSO in D-2.  In this capacity, he will be donating his time monthly, and/or twice quarterly, to assist the LASC Center district in settling its family law cases.  He will take cases from the department that are ready to go to trial, or to Request for Order (RFO), and try to get the parties to settle in order to avoid going to court and to reduce the backlog of unresolved cases. read more
