Brrr!

Easter at Grace

What a great day we had!  Beautiful weather!  Lots of visitors!  Eleven children made it into the pictures that were taken at the Easter Egg Hunt. Remember that Easter Day is only the first of seven Sundays in the the Great Fifty Days of Easter.  During this entire time we focus on the theme of resurrection and Jesus' post-resurrection appearances and interactions with his followers.  If you are with us on Sundays, you will notice that we do not include a confession and absolution in the liturgy.  Now is the time of focusing less on sorrow and sin--and focusing more on the joy that comes with our recognition of what our Lord has accomplished for us through his death and resurrection.  Don't let Easter be only one day in your life!

ECW Meeting

Episcopal Church Women will meet on Sunday, April 27, at 11:30 am in the Gaither Room.  We need to go over upcoming events and be sure that all responsibilities are accepted and bases covered--also any additional plans that need to be made for the coming year.  We hope many will be able to attend.

Celtic Service at the Labyrinth

Since the third Sunday of the month was on Easter, we moved our monthly Celtic service to this coming Sunday, April 27, at 6:00 pm, at the labyrinth--our first outdoor service for this year!  Please join us and bring others with you.  This is a great opportunity to have a different sort of worship experience.  The May service will be May 18.

Change Sunday Schedule?

At the Spiritual Formation Group this week, there was some conversation about the desirability of not changing our Sunday schedule for the summer--leaving worship at 10:15 and having the opportunity to continue Adult Forum and perhaps schedule some other meetings or events during the 9:00 am hour, e.g., a Pentecost event on June 8.  Any strong feelings one way or the other?  If so, call or message Alice or Joyce Cornett.

Service for Alzheimer's Group

This announcement is going out to the community and all are welcome.

"You are invited to join the Ecumenical Society for a community-wide event on Saturday, May 17th from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church (216 E. 6th Street).  This prayer vigil is for The Walk to End Alzheimer's.  Please come out and pray for a cure, pray for our loved ones who are suffering, for those who have lost the battle against the disease and certainly for those who are caring for a loved one.  This opportunity is hosted by Grace Episcopal Church and it will offer a wonderful experience to see, hear all about and walk the Labyrinth,  right here in our very own back yard!  A love offering will be welcomed.  For further information, please contact Sherri Turner @ 513-317-6932 or sbsturner@gmail.com"
