Polar Opposites
printed viscose from France

This duo is great to combine in one garment, mix and match in wardrobe capsules, or use separately as you wish. Imported from France, these prints were milled on our favorite viscose/elastane jersey knit.

 Polar Opposites-Black
Slightly larger scale than the white version, the black ground supports white ragged edged rings  alternating with ragged dots.

 Polar Opposites-White
Soft off-white ground supports black ragged edged rings

Connect the Dots
cotton satin stretch

The appealing characteristic of this black and white polka dot design is the size variation...some the size of a dime, 5/8 in. others, 3/8 in. The eye does not get bored since the design keeps the print dynamic. The cotton satin stretch is a great choice for dresses, skirts or tops with structure.

On the Dot
cotton sateen stretch

Cotton sateen is a wonderful choice for a structured dress, top or skirt. Black in dots form a regular pattern over a white with black pindot ground.

Casual Club
cotton lycra satin stretch

We were fortunate to find a group of cotton satins in a variety of colors this season. The first to roll out is classic black.  Finely woven with a deep stable selvage, this lightweight cotton will work for separates, top or bottom. shown with Bowtie button

Coming later in spring: There are 7 other colors due in the webstore later this season. They range  from brights (hot pink, hot jade, hot orchid, hot coral) to neutrals (navy, ecru, khaki green).

Jazz Age
viscose jersey from Italy

Dynamic print in black, white, medium gray and pale gray, the design gives forth incredible energy to all who view it. Wavy grouped lines seem to suggest musicality when combined with floating ovals. One can almost hear the music! Great choice for dresses or tops. Viscose/elastane imported from Italy.

Poppin Posies
stretch cotton lawn
orig $17/yd
sale $10.99/yd

Cotton lawn with just a bit of stretch is perfect for blouses, dresses or full skirts. The abstract floral print gives a nod to the sixties floral vibe. Deep cherry, highlighted with softened candy pink mingles with plum on a barely visible white ground. The black foliage and accents heighten the contrast and make this print contemporary

Fruitini Quad
embroidered cotton nylon
orig $25/yd
sale $14.99/yd

You know we are always tempted by the unusual! This fabrication from Calvin Klein really intrigued us. The base is nylon, as in parachute weight. The embroidery is dense rows of novelty stitches giving birth to a textured fabrication that will work well for structured tops or jackets.

Sew 'n Tell
with Guzel E.
I used the pattern #105 from Burda 1/2011. I followed the instructions except that I completely lined the skirt instead of lining the upper part as the pattern instructed.  I hoped you recognized "Salad Burnet"...

Looks great and great together! Thanks for the Sew 'n tell Guzel! Keep 'em coming!

You may also recognize Guzel's top. It is also from Burda - #119 from 2/2008.

See Guzel's outfit and others in the Customer Gallery.

Let's see what you have been sewing!
