The UJA Amazing Race is  this Sunday  at the JCC. Please see the flyer below. Akiva Academy will be participating with an Amazing booth. We hope to see you there!

The Corn Maze field trip will take place   this Thursday  for all students. 

There will be a Simchat Beit Hashoeva in partnership with House of Jacob at the Hojmi Sukkah on   Thursday October 1. Please stay tuned for details.

Corn Maze Field Trip September 24
On Thursday, September 24th, all students and their teachers will be visiting The Calgary Corn Maze. The students will be walking through one or several of the corn mazes and participating in some of the other activities on the farm.
 
Kindergarten-Grade 9 will depart the school at 9:00 and return at approximately 2:30.
Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten will depart the school at 9:00 and return at approximately 1:15.
 
The students will need to dress for Calgary's changeable weather as our activities will take place outdoors. Warm socks and proper shoes/boots are necessary as the corn fields may be wet and muddy. Students need to bring along their own lunch if they did not order a hot lunch. All students should bring along lunch, snacks, and drinks. Students in preschool are also able to order the hot lunch for that day which is salami sandwich with pickles and chips at $3.50 each.

Yom Kippur Fast Day Correction
Very unfortunately, an error has occurred in the Calgary Community Calendar, published by Chabad, with the wrong time of when the fast begins.

I would greatly appreciate if it can be included in your announcements, (newsletter, bulletin, bulletin board, email, facebook, and announcements from the Bima this Shabbos etc.)

Candle lighting and the beginning of the fast is at  7:17pm on  Tuesday Sept. 22nd/9 Tishrei.

We regret this terrible error (after all it is the YOM KIPPUR FAST!) and your assistance in rectifying this error, is greatly and deeply appreciated.
