Local Businesses "Wild About Youth" at Career Fair

Westland, MI - Over 25 student applicants dressed for success at the "Wild About Youth Career Fair" on Monday night at the Friendship Center, and they did not disappoint the businesses in attendance.

"Feedback from businesses was extremely positive," said Paul Motz, Youth Assistance Program Director. "They felt students were well-prepared, confident, enthusiastic, and engaging."

The career fair is part of Mayor Wild's Summer Employment Program in collaboration with the Youth Assistance Program, the Westland Chamber of Commerce, and Wayne-Westland Community School District (WWCSD). The Chamber of Commerce helped recruit business participants, while the WWCSD recruited the youth participants.

"We are thankful to the local business participants for providing this valuable opportunity to young people," said Mayor Bill Wild. "And I know the businesses benefit as well because of the impressive quality of students who participated."

The businesses in attendance included Cintas, MJR Cinema, Ruth Olson Photography, Marquette House, the Parks and Recreation Department, and several restaurants.
