Exchanges is an evening program to spark discovery, learning and discussion about the past, present and future of science and medicine.

Join us for “It’s Electric,” a short 15 minute talk by author, historian, and TEDx speaker Brandy Schillace, who will share historical stories and artifacts on electric therapies from centuries past. Followed by a mini-panel and audience participation to address today’s use of electricity in medicine, including functional electrical stimulation (FES) therapy and tomorrow’s possibilities to restore movement through neuromodulation.

Our program will also feature Dr. Bob Kirsch, Executive Director of the Cleveland FES Center, who will join our panelists: Dr. Jonathan Miller, Director, Functional and Restorative Neurosurgery Center, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, and Jay Alberts, PhD, Vice Chair of Health Technology Enablement, Clinical Transformation, Director, Cleveland Clinic Concussion Center, to share insights on research and therapy advancements.
