Third Annual Chili Cook Off - Thursday, December 5, following Worship - Lower Auditorium
Community Lunch on December 5 will be a Chili Cook Off. There will be prizes for best tasting, most creative, and spiciest (while still edible). Get together with some friends or a student organization and whip up your best chili creation to share with our community. Bring the chili in a crock pot to the Lower Auditorium before worship and the lunch team will prepare it for community lunch. If you plan on making chili, please email Mary Ellen Walter and let her know the name of your chili and who will be involved in making it ASAP.
Incarnation Celebration - Friday, December 6, 6:00pm - Lower Auditorium | SLC invites you as well as your partners and families to celebrate the Christmas season. The Incarnation Celebration is a cherished tradition of jovial laughter and genuine presence with one another. Bring your favorite finger food or dessert to share; SLC will provide apple cider and hot cocoa. There will be crafts for children, a tacky/ugly Christmas Sweater contest, and a Variety Show. Exam Study Spaces | The Lower Auditorium and rooms 105, 114, 201, 202, 213, 301A, and 302 will be available for your use the week of December 7 - 14 as exam study spaces each day from 8:00am until midnight. Please note previously scheduled meetings and other room commitments (like final exams) have priority access to spaces previously reserved. Be courteous if another group is already in a space during that week.

Central NC - A Movable Feast is a brand new mobile ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. They have just secured funding from the national Episcopal Church to develop their work and are seeking a Project Coordinator (10 hours per week) to provide full strategic and administrative support to the Director of AMF to ensure its successful launch and sustainability.

Did you know that the Admissions Office keeps a list of external scholarship resources to assist you with finding scholarship and grants to support the cost of your education? There are a variety of awards available, some with certain eligibility requirements (i.e., location, denomination, etc.). Scholarship of the Week Hale Donation Scholarship Fund - Established in 1803 by Sarah Hale in loving memory of her husband Major John Hale. The scholarship fund is dedicated to helping underwrite the costs of students preparing for Christian ministry. Scholarship application deadline is May 1 each year. A New Look at the Advent Wreath: A Traditional Custom with Roots - Tuesday, November 26, 12:00noon - Reynolda Gardens | Local Moravian, Susan Mickey, will share examples of Advent wreathes reflecting a fresh approach to this treasured tradition. "Things Wondrous and Humble: American Still Life" Exhibition at Reynolda House Museum of American Art | Explore both traditional and unexpected approaches to still life in this exhibition featuring some of the finest examples of still life from collections across the state. Explore how objects appeal to the senses, how tabletop arrangements become an artist's study tool, and how any object can have meaning. Now through December 8th. >>More information.
Life After Death: The Day of the Dead in Mexico at the Museum of Anthropology | MOA's annual exhibit includes new information with sections about the celebration's history and its unique folk art. The centerpiece is a traditional Mexican ofrenda: a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, food and beverage offerings, marigolds, and photos of deceased relatives to honor the dead. A children's ofrenda and a digital photo essay illustrating different aspects of the celebration are also on display. Text is in English and Spanish. Admission is free. Exhibit runs through December 13.
