Resort Realty and the popular Rachael Ray Show, recently partnered to put together a Nags Head vacation package for a Glen Allen, VA family. The father is battling prostate cancer and his wish was to return to Nags Head, the place his family has created so many memories in the past. 

The show contacted Resort Realty which gladly accepted the opportunity and found OBX Partners to put together a very nice package for this family.

On Wednesday, March 5th, the Rachael Ray show aired an emotional episode featuring the story of Garth Callaghan's battle with cancer. (He has been writing notes for his daughter Emma's lunch since she was in kindergarten. Garth's mission is to write enough notes to last her through her high school graduation.)  The story was also featured on the Today Show and CNN, Garth Callaghan has touched thousands of people with his heart-warming story and brought great recognition to the Outer Banks area.

Outer Banks Chamber Board Chair said this act of kindness is a perfect example of  Outer Banks Smiles in Action.  He thanked the Resort Realty team for their generosity and congratulated them on being the March 2014 OBX Smiles in Action Winner.

The OBX Smiles in Action program recognizes acts of kindness and outstanding customer service in the community. Through printed postcards in local businesses and an on-line nomination form, the Chamber solicits nominations of those who should be recognized. Submissions are recognized through social media and a monthly winner is chosen by the Outer Banks Hospitality Committee.
