Kick back or race to the finish
If you want to walk through the autumn leaves or pick up the pace there are
bike and hike trails for you. From single-track mountain bike trails to a scenic stroll beauty is the common theme.
Fall's pace doesn't slow down with the competitors in our upcoming events being pushed to the limit on land and water.
On September 6 athletes of all ages will be challenged in the
ORCA Sprint & Kids of Steel Triathlon. Enjoy the fall sunshine at Peach Orchard Beach Park as you watch teams and individuals swim, bike and run.

On September 20 the
Test of Humanity lives up to its name as an endurance race that raises funds for Canadian Humanitarian projects in Ethiopia. Take part or come to watch racers from ages 3 and up ride for 30 minutes to 4 hours on the grueling 10.2 km course.
If running's more your speed come out for the
Terry Fox Run on September 20. Every year millions of participants in over 60 countries carry on the legacy of Terry's Marathon of Hope over a 1 to 5 km course.

Harvest time in Summerland
Fall is the time of year when farmers begin their harvest, from grapes to grain, and thoughts turn to family and Thanksgiving.
Stock up on your fruits and vegetables for canning at our roadside farm markets and the last downtown street markets of the year.
Each Tuesday until Oct. 27, from 9 am to 1 pm, the Summerland Farmer's Market provides plenty of choice.

Take the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the bustling downtown
Summerland Sunday Market, between 10 am and 2 pm until September 20. Booths loaded with fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, and more for you to buy.
New to downtown this year is the
Rotary Harvest Days in Summerland celebration. Revel in the community spirit of harvest from September 13 to October 12 as this visual feast decorates the sidewalks along Main Street and Victoria Road to celebrate Summerland's agricultural heritage.

Fall in Summerland brings car and grape enthusiasts to the Okanagan Valley. The 10th annual Endless Summer Show and Shine, presented by Apple Valley Cruisers, takes place on September 12 in beautiful Memorial Park. Classic cars and motorcycles of all makes, models and colours sparkle in the sunshine as proud owners show off their renovation skills.

Fall Okanagan Wine Festival from October 1-11, when our wineries will be alive with music, tasting their new releases and talking about their unique wine-making processes.
At the Kettle Valley Steam Railway the Spirit of Summerland will be chugging through the autumn leaves Saturday to Monday until October 12
. Enjoy a scenic ride on this historic train or enjoy the thrill of a Great Train Robbery.

Looking ahead to Winter
Mark your calendars; the kickoff to Christmas in the Okanagan Valley is happening on Friday November 27. Summerland's Festival of Lights will inspire awe and wonder with music, street entertainment and more family fun. This year's theme is Christmas in the Country.
Make it a weekend by pairing the festivities with Bottleneck Drive's Light Up the Vines. On November 28 & 29, from 3 pm to 7 pm, stop in for wine tastings, holiday promotions and prizes among the shimmering lit vines. Guide yourself or book a tour - it's your vacation!
