1918 Society Conference Call on Dec. 23

The World Affairs Councils of America will host a 1918 Society Conference Call on Ukraine, Russia, and the West with U.S. Ambassador John F. Tefft, former ambassador to Ukraine, on Monday, December 23, at 12:00 PM ET. The call will be moderated by Bill Clifford, President and CEO, World Affairs Councils of America. We invite all 1918 Society members to bring a guest on the call.

Amb. John F. Tefft recently retired from the United States Foreign Service after fulfilling his duties as Ambassador to Ukraine, from November 2009 to August 2013. Previously, he was Ambassador to Georgia from 2005 to 2009, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs with responsibility for U.S. relations with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova.
During his 40-year diplomatic career, Tefft was awarded the State Department's Distinguished Honor Award in 1992 and the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Year Award for his service in Moscow in 1999. He received Presidential Meritorious Service Awards twice, in 2001 and 2005.
