- Hospitality in Community:
Engaging, Listening, and Sharing as a Holy Practice
Monday, March 31, 12:00 - 1:00pm, Wingate 202 - Part of the Embodying Hospitality during Lent series at the School of Divinity, this is a conversation that focuses on contemplative listening facilitated by WFU chaplain's Tim Auman and K. Monet Rice. Even if you didn't register, bring your lunch and join us!
- Hospitality for the Neighbor: Identities that Shape Us
Wednesday, April 2, 11:00am - 12:15pm, Lower Auditorium - Facilitated by campus partners in Diversity and Inclusion, and Campus Life, this workshop will assist those in ministry be effective within diverse communities. Add to your calendar.
- Hospitality for Creation: Preparing the Land

SLC Week
March 31 - April 4
- Monday | Coffee, Cookies and Art: Join SLC for coffee and cookies in the Student Lounge, Mosaic will provide a beautifully painted canvas for us to write what we love and enjoy about the Wake Div community.
- Tuesday | Wear Wake Div: During Community Lunch, Wake Div merchandise such as shirts and mugs will be sold in the Lower Auditorium! All proceeds go toward student funds.
- Wednesday | Coffee with SLC: Members of SLC will be in the Lower Auditorium to sit, converse, and answer questions. Whether you're interested in becoming a member of SLC or just want to hang out, join us.
- Thurdsay | Lunch with the Deans: Deans O'Day, Crainshaw, and Jones will join the community for lunch to discuss the state of Wake Div. They will be answering questions and sharing insight. Lunch from Qdoba will be provided (sponsored by SLC).
- Friday | Election Time: Elections kick off for the 2014-2015 school year. Nomination forms will be emailed. Complete the form by the designated time. Elections will begin in mid-April.

Lenten Preaching Series

This year's Seventh Annual Lenten Preaching Series is held in partnership with First Baptist Church on Highland of Winston-Salem. Themed God's New Community, each service - held Fridays during Lent - will include a brief sermon and communion will be observed. Following the service, lunch will be served. This week's service will be led by Dr. Gail O'Day, Dean and Professor of New Testament and Preaching at Wake Forest University School of Divinity. She will preach on "The Faith of Friends in God's Community" (Mark 2:1-12).

2014 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Festival of Young Preachers
Thursday, June 26 - Friday, June 27, Atlanta, Georgia
Preaching matters and the worship of God requires our very best. To this end the CBF, in partnership with the Academy of Preachers, seeks to inspire, network, and encourage young people toward excellence in their call to gospel preaching. 16 preaching slots will be available with open registration beginning April 4. Contact [email protected] for more information and to register. There is a registration fee of $100. Open to all 14-28 year olds with a CBF sponsor.

The Gendered Pulpit: Sex, Body, and Desire in Preaching and Worship Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber will be giving a talk titled "The Gendered Pulpit: Sex, Body, and Desire in Preaching and Worship." This talk is relevant to everyone. Women who participate in public speaking or preaching and those of us who identify as Queer may find it especially helpful. This event is sponsored by Kaleidoscope.
SAVE THE DATE: End of Year Banquet
The entire community (including spouses, partners, and children) is invited to the End of Year Banquet. We will honor our third year students and celebrate the end of the academic year. Banquet runs form 7:30 - 9:30pm, followed by a little dancing.

Lexington, KY - Blessed Earth, a national nonprofit ministry, is seeking a motivated individual to implement our Sabbath Living Initiative. You will be based in Lexington, Kentucky. A good deal of your work will be with UMC clergy and churches in North Carolina. Blessed Earth also partners nationally with organizations and churches ranging from Southern Baptist to Episcopal, Wesleyan, and other denominations. We work with seminaries in the United States as well as partners abroad.

Vatican expert Jason Berry will be giving a talk on the Catholic church and the challenges facing the new pope. Berry is from New Orleans, LA and is a well-known and highly regarded foreign correspondent who has specialized in covering the Vatican and the Catholic Church.
