Kickoff Brunch -- A Great Success! |

If you didn't make it to the 2014 Kickoff Brunch on Saturday, February 8, you missed a fabulous party!!
We had 60+ attendees (members and guests), and Plates provided us with great food. We found out about all the golf events and education opportunities available this year, including the return of Fast Trackers! There were over 45 prizes that were raffled off! And we had 7 new members who joined at the brunch!!!
A HUGE thank you to all who attended and sponsored!!
And thanks to our fabulous Board of Directors who have planned such a great year, and who put together a wonderful party: Sunny Mills, Pam Katros, Del Sayles-Owen, Fern Lukka, Theresa Stamey, Rashida Lilani, and Cindy Roeser!!

Monday, March 3rd is the first day of Fast Trackers! This series of class meetings and practice nights provides moral support and camaraderie while helping newer and returning players get more comfortable with basic rules, etiquette, posting scores, setting goals and practicing for maximum improvement. | |

February is National Women's Heart Health month and it is also the EWGA "I Heart Golf Month".
Please have your blood pressure checked! Remember the number 120/80 - blood pressure should be at or below that number, and can be lowered (like our handicap). Heart disease is the #1 leading killer of women, and stroke is #3. Both of these can be reduced by proper diet and exercise: add the 120 to the 80, to get 200, which is the number of minutes per week, we should each be getting moderate exercise. That translates to a 30 minute walk per day. |

As always, there is confusion around the process for renewing or modifying your EWGA membership. National is aware of this and asked that we pass along this information that may help with the frustration.
- If you encounter any issues when trying to use the online system to renew your membership, They encourage you to submit your renewals either by mail or fax instead.
- One big confusion: in October each year they place an invoice on every member's record who is due to renew from January through May. When you see an invoice online that is dated 10/22/2013, it is for your 2014 dues, NOT your 2013 dues. This is the invoice that you should pay when you go to renew. It is confusing.
- If you want to add a second chapter to your membership (a dual membership), you will need to send an email to [email protected] or call 800-407-1477 x10. This cannot be done online.
- After you renew or join, you should receive your member card within 2-3 weeks, and your bag tags (new tags from Giggle Golf this year!) within 3-4 weeks. If you haven't gotten both of these within a month of renewing or joining, please contact National EWGA at [email protected] or 800-407-1477 x10.
One additional note ... joining and renewing is all handled by National EWGA. If you have problems with the system, none of us in the Sacramento Chapter can do anything more than sympathize and direct you to contact National at [email protected] or 800-407-1477 x10. |
