Permanent Medication Disposal Boxes

The Howard County Police Department and HC DrugFree are partnering to provide permanent medication disposal boxes at convenient locations around the County.

Studies have shown that two-thirds of teens who abuse prescription drugs are getting them from cabinets in the home. The Howard County Police Department and HC DrugFree encourage you to make use of these boxes to dispose of your unwanted or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications safely and anonymously. Since their installation in April, more than 138 pounds of medications have been collected already!
Permanent disposal boxes are located at:

HCPD Northern District Station
3410 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City
Open 24/7

HCPD Southern District Station
11226 Scaggsville Road, Laurel
Open 24/7

Parent After Prom Drawing Winner Selected!
Each year HC DrugFree is proud to partner with the PTA Council of Howard County and support the 12 high school PTSAs by holding a drawing for parents of teens who attended a Howard County PTSA-sponsored After Prom party to thank them for choosing not to host their own party where alcohol might be available to teens. This year's winner of a $100 gift card is Amy Schroeder, the mother of Howard High School senior Eric Schroeder. Amy has been the Howard High School After Prom co-chair for 5 years and when asked, Amy said, "This is my last year and I will miss leading such an important committee of dedicated parents and volunteers. It's a priority for Howard High School's Administration and PTSA to sponsor a safe but fun-filled night for our students. We love that the majority of students who attend Prom choose to come to our After Prom and hope that that tradition will continue for years to come!"
