Traquis Edwards Appointed to Westland's Parks and Recreation Advisory Council
Westland, MI - Ms. Traquis Edwards was appointed to Westland's Parks and Recreation Advisory Council by Mayor William Wild and approved by the Westland City Council on Monday, November 18, 2013.

A Michigan native, the mother of two teenage Wayne-Westland school students has proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years. Ms. Edwards returned home from service in 2005 and she moved to Woodhaven. There, she drove a school bus for the Brownstown-Woodhaven School District. After a few years she moved her family to the City of Westland, and became involved in the community through the Norwayne Community Watch.

"Ms. Edwards is a proud resident of Norwayne, Westland's oldest neighborhood, and will be a strong advocate as we work to revitalize the  Norwayne community and attract new homeowners," said Mayor William Wild.

The Park and Recreation Advisory Council consists of seven-members. The role of the Council is to review plans and specifications for work undertaken in City parks and to volunteer for programs provided by the City's Recreation Department.
