2014 PGA OF BC BUYING SHOW A SUCCESS!

PGA OF BC HONOURS 2014 AWARD RECIPIENTS
In a special ceremony at Richmond's River Rock Casino Resort, the PGA of BC honoured the best in the Association for the 2014 season in front of a sold out crowd. Sixteen awards were dispersed to PGA of BC members and partners, recognizing excellence and leadership in the golf industry.

Amongst the Honoured Recipients were:

  • Jim Gibson Patron of the Year - Acushnet Canada
  • PGA of BC Media Personnel of the Year - Jay Janower, Global TV

REMINDER - PGA OF CANADA DUES PAYMENT DEADLINE - NOVEMBER 1ST
A friendly reminder to all members that payment for 2015 PGA of Canada Membership dues must be received by the National Office no later than November 1st to avoid late fees.

As a note, members may request a full refund (minus any late fees) for their dues should any changes occur until April 1, 2015. If you anticipate any changes for 2015, the PGA of BC office recommends members to pay their dues prior to this deadline and contact the office should you have any special circumstances.

ZIBRIK CONTINUES TO LEAD PDP 
Ashley Zibrik of Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club continues to lead the PGA of BC Professional Development Program points race, thanks to her involvement in the PGA of BC Awards. Zibrik is a Regional Finalist for the Professional Development Award, increasing her total to 85 and an 11 point advantage over Olympic View Golf Club's Jeff Palmer.

Palmer received 4 points as Regional Finalist for Junior Leader of the Year, reaching a total of 74 points - good enough for a nine point lead over Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Rob Anderson. Anderson nominated five professionals for awards, and competed in the PGA of BC Club Professional Championship, allowing him to overtake Myles Johnson of Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club for the third place position.

With many new and exciting initiatives on the horizon, the PGA of BC has various volunteer opportunities available for members to assist and earn valuable PDP points during the planning season. Many opportunities may be done remotely and at your leisure.
