Get an Early Jump on Your Game!

The Annual Faults & Fixes Clinic at the Clearbrook Driving Range Saturday, June 14th 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

We are staging our annual "Faults & Fixes" Golf Clinic early this year so all our patrons can get a jump on improving their game.

The clinic is free and open to everyone and is hosted by our PGA and Head Golf Professional, Scott Sterling. Scott will demonstrate the key fundamentals to a good golf swing and discuss the common faults and how to fix them. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Scott will hold a question and answer session following the demonstration that will speak to each individual's concern with their swing.

Now is the time of year to fix those flaws so you can enjoy the rest of the season at Clearbrook. We look forward to seeing you at the clinic!

On The Course

Golf CartWe are pleased to report that the bunker renovation work on holes 6 and 7 has been completed. They add to the overall appearance of the golf course and more importantly greatly improve playing conditions.

Please help us maintain these course improvements by placing rakes just outside the perimeter of the bunkers. Also please remember to rake all traps and clean off your shoes of any excess sand before proceeding onto the green. This will eliminate "sand" prints on the putting surface.

Tips from the Pro
Scott Sterling, PGA Professional

The Importance of Hitting "down" on the Ball

If you are having trouble getting the ball in the air remember this, Golf is a game of opposites. To get the ball airborne you must hit "down" on the back of the ball
with a descending blow.

The tendency is to help the ball in the air by scooping at the ball which brings the bottom of the club up to the top of the ball resulting in a ball that stays on the ground

When practicing think "down and through" the ball which will make the ball fly nice and high. Remember not to cup your wrist at impact as this will result in"scooping' the ball to try to get it airborne.

Tune Up Your Game!
