Welcome 
Hello and welcome to another exciting year of learning and growing. The buzz and excitement that we witnessed on the first day of school make all the hard work and preparation done over the summer worth it. Many teachers were in school for many days prior to the start of the year to make sure that they were ready for the first day. It is so nice to see so many returning faces as well as several new faces. We hope to see everyone at the back to school BBQ this coming Wednesday, September 2nd at 4 pm.
 
We would like to welcome all the new families to our school: Be'eri, Girvitz, Jacobs, Judkovski, Levin, Moshkovits, Nosonovich, Shpigel, Sulkin, and Wilms. We look forward to getting to know you and being part of the Akiva family.
   
We have several new staff members joining our faculty this year. Please welcome Morah Stacey, Morah Lidia, and Morah Laura to Akiva Academy. Stop by the classrooms and introduce yourselves when you are in the school.

Parking

Parking is not permitted in the school bus zone in front of the building or in

the staff parking lot at anytime . Please keep clear of laneway, driveways and crosswalks when parking. NO PARKING is allowed in front of the garbage bin at the south end of the building.
Hot Lunch and After School Clubs
Hot Lunch will resume after Labour day. Please look out for order forms and calendars next week.
 
After School Clubs will begin after the Chagim. Sign-up sheets will be going out in the next week or so.
Board Meeting 
The first board meeting of the year is this Tuesday, September 1 at 7:30 pm at Akiva. All families are invited to join the board or to attend meetings. 
Donations Needed
If anyone has an Ipad or Mac Notebook, that they are not using anymore, we are looking for a few to be donated to the school for our music program.
