Happy Birthday Children's Future International

Four years ago, we opened the Learning Center to serve some of the most resource poor and vulnerable children in rural Cambodia. Today, we celebrate the fact that many of our students are at the top of their classes, six students are in university, and all are thriving and learning.

Thank you to our incredible supporters who continue to make these opportunities possible!

A Time to Celebrate

Our students are excelling - and our partner schools are beginning to notice. Five Children's Future students who attend private school were honored this month with a certificate signifying that they are among the top three in their respective classes.  An additional 20 students who attend private school also received honors for being among the top students in their class last semester. 50 more students received honors for being among the top students in public school. The students were beaming with pride as they received their awards.

This means that one-third of Children's Future beneficiaries were honored as being top students in their classes.  Many went from being out of school altogether or not receiving consistent education to now being acknowledged for their superior academic performance.

Let's all celebrate the successes of each of our students!

Student Profile - Sreyly*

Sreyly states, "When I'm at home, I like to play and watch my sister. Sometimes I help my mother to sweep the floor. At Children's Future I like to play too. And I like to read and draw in the library."

Sreyly is seven years old and studies in public school.  She is currently in second grade and her favorite subjects are Khmer and math.  Sreyly lives with her mother and five siblings - she is the second youngest child.

Sreyly is a happy child and is always willing to share her amazing smile.  Every day, her brother brings her to Children's Future on their bicycle. Although it takes them more than half an hour to get to the center, it is obvious that school is their priority. Like many students, the siblings share a bicycle. Neither Sreyly nor her siblings would be able to attend school without the support of Children's Future.

In 2012, Sreyly received life-saving medical treatment.  Her family lives on less than one dollar per day and was not able to afford the treatment.  Children's Future provided financial assistance for them to pay for the treatments. Sreyly spent two months in the hospital and received multiple surgeries.

Sreyly has fully recovered and is healthy again.  She and her family are extremely grateful for the assistance that Children's Future was able to provide.  This story is an example of the holistic supportive services that Children's Future provides to all of our students to ensure their continued safety and educational success.
