NEW 25% Tuition Award for Library Employees
Syracuse University iSchool

Today's new librarians are not threatened or made obsolete by the Internet or technology. They are using everything at their disposal to shape the world around us-often without us even noticing. In 2014, Syracuse University's iSchool continues to celebrate our 20th Year in Online & Distance Education, and maintains our #1 ranking in Information Systems for Library & Information Studies (U.S. News & World Report).

The iSchool's innovative approach to the MSLIS inspired a groundbreaking New Librarianship philosophy that has shaped a dynamic generation of library and information professionals. Our programs ignite a camaraderie that inspires new ideas and insights, connecting students online and in life. Our programs and teachings also provide students with unlimited access to cutting-edge technology. This fusion of people, ideas, and information leads to innovations in community building that can be applied anywhere in the world. At the Syracuse University iSchool, students are educated to be successful leaders in libraries as well as other fields related to information science.

Research conducted in 2013 by the Education Advisory Board shows that individuals with an LIS degree are finding jobs outside of traditional library settings, and fit into many different types of organizations (source: Burning Glass Labor/Insight™). The iSchool at Syracuse University equips students with the skills needed to meet job market demands, and creates pathways for individuals who wish to advance in the profession with the skillset provided by our ALA-accredited master's programs and advanced graduate certificate degrees.

With this in mind, the iSchool at Syracuse is pleased to announce a new Library Employee 25% Tuition Scholarship award for students admitted to our Library and Information Science (LIS) or LIS School Media master's degree or our graduate Certificate of Advanced Study in Data Science -- online or on campus, full- or part-time. This award will assist those who are working in library settings as they move toward the professional ALA-accredited degree and advanced skillsets needed to pursue their passion in librarianship. The iSchool at Syracuse is proud to support librarianship and the development and continued education of our highly valued, professional library staff throughout the community.
