Welcome to September...Fall is in the air
Before summer came to an official close, the TireSocks crew journeyed up into the mountains outside of Denver for our annual Camp Out trip. This year we had a Kickball tournament and the black team outscored the red team 28 to 15. Be sure to check out our photos from the fun weekend in this month's edition of Inside TireSocks, Inc.
September typically marks the end of summer in the northern hemisphere. Football is in full swing, the days are growing shorter, nature is starting to give us some color, and the Fall Equinox marks the balance between light and dark.
I dove a little deeper into the historical meanings of the Autumn Equinox and here is what I found.
"Equinoxes occur twice a year - in spring and autumn, when night and day are approximately equal lengths, which is when the sun crosses the equator. It is the time of balance between day and night, before night takes over and brings the coming winter, a time of darkness and death. Traditionally, the autumn equinox is a celebration of the harvest, as it is when summer has finished giving its fruits, which are collected in preparation for winter." ~ Balsebuub
