The Power of Respecting the Teacher
Letter from the Executive Director

Our lottery closed on February 21, and the overwhelming demand for seats at BVP continues to be our driving force to grow so we can serve more families. And grow we will-- to 7 schools by the year 2017.  But it's not just about growth. It's about demanding the right for every student to attend a high quality school, for every family to have the choice to send their children to a school that meets their individual needs while pushing them to achieve at the highest levels. If there was ever a moment to fight for this right in our state, it is now. Learn more below, and be sure to join us on March 26 as we show the General Assembly what quality school choice means to us.

Next week, we also invite you to join us at For Art's Sake: A Celebration of Scholar Artists on March 19th, 6:00-8:00PM in honor of Youth Art Month! The event is free and open to the public between 6:00 and 8:00PM. Be sure to participate in a free workshop with guest artist, Steve Brosnihan.  BVP scholars will also be leading demonstrations-- make and take whatever you design! For anyone interested in joining for the private reception and silent auction (5-6:30PM), tickets are still on sale. Please contact jlopiccolo@rimabv.org for more information.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

My best,

Jeremy Chiappetta
Executive Director

Stay Current with BVP Musings!
In addition to it being Youth Art Month (YAM), March was also Music in our Schools Month! In our humble opinion, this was the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate our (very) special art and music programs.

In this BVP Musings blog, Music Director Piera Leone highlights this month's celebrations.

Here, we learn more from Art Director and RI Co-Art Educator of the Year Michelle Turner about the special event, For Art's Sake happening next week. Be sure to read her blog, "Piles..."
