Good Morning,

My goodness gracious, change is upon us. I have a lot of information to share so please read this entire email.   As most of us are gearing up for the Friday Night 5K, I want to congratulate Val Murphy for qualifying for the Boston Marathon. She joins an elite few from our club who will be a part of that race.   As we get more sunlight we are pushing back the times for our workouts. This allows more people to attend

 

Thank you to everyone who showed up for our Asparagus Ride this past weekend. We had a beautiful morning, a great turnout, just two flats and we raised over $500 for the Clearview Relay for life team!

 

 

Workouts:

Monday (morning) Boot Camp in the Park is over. Thank you very much to Angel who led the Boot Camp. She always had a core group there! Boot camp will resume in the Fall.

 

Monday (evening) 5k  Effective June 2nd- We will continue with our Monday Night 5K but will be adding a bike ride (optional). We are calling this a BACKWARDS BRICK.  Run will be from 6:30-7 and ride will be 7-8. We will not have a run on Memorial Day.

 

Tuesday (morning) - Tempo Tuesday mornings will continue through June 24 at  9 am at Sarah Zuba's house

 

Tuesday (morning) - Queen of the Hill Ride will continue through June 24th. 9 am at Ferrell Fire station.  I am going to add a few Sunday evening Queen of the Hill rides.  Look for it on faceb0ok or or website calendar.  

 

Tuesday (evening) Effective May 27- Our very popular Tempo Tuesday will be moved to Thursday evenings at 6:  30 pm. Please feel free to bring your bike for a 10 mile ride after the run.

 

Tuesday (evening) Lake Gilman Swimming (NEW). This will be every Tuesday night in June and July starting on May 27th. The cost is $5 per person plus a tip for the lifeguards. Michelle will be sending out a detailed email.

 

Wednesday (evening) Rode Ride- Will be moved back to 6:30 pm for the rest of the summer- starting tomorrow:  May 21st!   Tomorrow night is also our Wild Wed- our HFM sponsored Happy Hour!

 

Thursday (morning) 9am- Tighten the Toosh. Thank you Lori!

 

Friday (morning) 9 am Trial Run will continue through July. This is a hilly terrain that you can walk, hike or run!

 

Saturday ride 7 am and 9 am ride. Meet at 2 Burton Road. All levels.

 

Sunday: 8 am long ride. You can do any distance, but I personally would LOVE LOVE LOVE company for my long rides.  Again, you can do whatever you want, but my plan is to do the following:

  •  May: 30 miles
  •  June 40 mile
  • ,July 50 miles 
  •  August (gasp) 60 miles. . This is a great opportunity for anyone who is training for a 70.3 or the MS 150

Sundays: 8-10 am structured swim at Wenonah Swim Club. This will be $25 for the month of  June and $20 for themonth of July . If you are a member of the Wenonah Swim Club it is free.  I will send out a sign me up for this. Sunday morning structured swims will start on Sunday, June 1st.

  

RIVERWIND SWIMMING- Riverwind Swimming will end on Thursday, May 29th.  You will have the following Sunday and Monday to make up for Easter and Labor Day.  Thank you to everyone who participated.

QUEEN OF THE SCALE!   Final weight in is this week!!!!  It is a very tight race!  I can't wait to see is the biggest loser.  Thanks so much to Lynn McCabe for taking the lead on this.

Special Events:

 

Thursday, May 22nd @ 9 am  (NEW) Practice Fabulous Friday Night 5K Run! This is a practice run for our big event! 600 N. Stockton Ave, Wenonah NJ. 

 

Sunday, May 25th @ 9 am: Sea Isle Ride (NEW). I will be in Sea Isle this entire weekend and would love some company to ride from Sea Isle to Ocean City. 9 am leaving from the start of the Promenade (29th and the Ocean) .  Maybe a wetsuit swim after? I will bring extras.

 

Sunday, May 25 @ 8 am: Lancaster Covered Bridge Run. Thank you to Diana Williams for organizing what I am sure will be an amazing event. Please sign up via Sign me up button.

 

Monday, May 26th: Memorial Day Ride. 9 am (NEW) Meeting at Ella Harris Park. This is a tradition and we always have a nice turnout. Wake up, have your coffee and join us at Ella Harris Park for a 15 or 30 mile ride. ALL LEVELS are welcome! I won't be there... but I know some very lovely ladies will be- btw it is supposed to be GORGEOUS.

 

Thursday, May 29th: STRAWBERRY RIDE(NEW)details pending, but this is a ride to a local pick your own strawberry farm.   I will cart your berries back. Free to all members with a small tip for our Relay for Life 8th grade team who will organizing the ride!

 

Friday, June 6th: Fabulous Friday Night 5K @ Wenonah Swim Club. We have over 300 women registered (and one token man) registered for the event. Please be sure to stay for the after party. I will be sending out an email the week of June 1st withe the details for packet pick up.  

 

In an effort to keep the costs of the race and the party down I am asking for help with food and volunteers. We need about 40 people to bring a little "something-something" to the race and about 20 people to volunteer. Please click on the Sign me up button below to help out.

  

Sunday, June 8th"  My friend Steve Delmonte needs your help! He has two big races coming up. Escape the Cape and the AC Challenge and he needs volunteers. If you are new to the sport of triathlon this is a great way to get exposed to the sport! I am going to have you email Steve directly at to volunteer! He is a great guy who puts on an amazing race!!! Plus- we have a lot of girls doing Escape the Cape it will be fun to cheer them on! email him at [email protected] and tell him I sent ya!

 

 Sunday: June 8th- Mock Triathlon #1. This is a pool swim followed by a 10 mile bike and a 2 mile run. Great for a simple workout OR to do a brick!  We already have oodles of noodles signed up.  I do have to cap it at 120 so be sure to sign up soon than later.

 

  

TEEN TRI EVENT: DYE ME a RIVER- June 14th @ Kingsway High school. I don't know how many of you know Lori Hartnett but she is a mover and a shaker and has created an event to benefit Teen Tri and Bring Change 2 mind. It is a color run at Kingsway Regional High school and because I know Lori.... I know it will be FABULOUS   you do not have to be a tri club member, teen tri or glow to attend so spread the word! We recently had a lecture series on the Pitfalls of Triathlon Training and will continue to offer great educational opportunities throughout the summer. Lydia and Traci have all the plans in place for Piqunique en Blanc ( I still can't spell that right). I have my white dress ready to rock.   Don't forget we have babysitters on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights!!   Sign up Below.


 Lastly, I want to mention the importance of safety on the bike. When we are out on the road we are highly identifiable and I have received a few emails about  "those girls in pink"   riding three across or in the middle of the lane. I am not sure if this is true or not but please stay single file in high traffic areas such as Back creek road or Tomlin station road.   Obey all road signs as if you were a car and if a car beeps at you or rides closely to you just maintain your composure and focus on the road.
