Worship this week - March 23rd

Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Everything I've Ever Done" based on John 4.5-42. Jesus met a woman at a well one day and had a long conversation with her. Later on she told her friends that he knew everything she had ever done. A lot of what she had done was morally questionable and we might think she would be embarrassed that Jesus knew so much about her. But she understood that Jesus knowing was a good thing. How do we feel about Jesus knowing everything we've done?

Sweet Success!
The Education Team and the Youth Ministry (students & leaders) extend a big thank you to our PCIS congregation for their great generosity in supporting our Meats & Sweets event. The event raised over $1700 this past Sunday evening to support this summer's youth mission trips! Fantastic!
Mission at the Eastward (MATE)
We are a quiet group, wilth no guest speakers like the Philippines, no chili cookoffs like the youth group. We are the team that takes a week of vacation time to go up to Maine to serve our Lord by helping the poor. We replace leaky doors and windows, add insulation, trailer skirts. We do roofing, we do siding, we build wheelchair ramps.
We pay our own dorm and food costs. All the money that is collected for MATE is given to MATE for supplies we use - like doors, windows, insulation, roofing and siding materials, wood and nails.
We are looking for more volunteers! Would you like to join the community-building time of stretching your comfort zone, helping others who are in bad circumstances, eating together and sharing about our day and its challenges? It is always an adventure, always a challenge. And it's always the most worthwhile week of my year.

Youth Groups Exploring Homelessness

Pictures taken March 9th during Youth Group activity
Our students spent some time at Youth Group on Sunday, March 9th, constructing homes, and, more importantly, considering what life can be like when we don't have a place to call home. Best of all, our students made the decision to move forward with getting involved in helping the homeless through a local organization called Family Promise. You'll be hearing much more about this soon!
