Welcome to Words Matter, Dynamic Literacy's newsletter.
We have something special just for you.
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter, Words Matter. Every week or so we'll send a new edition to your inbox. The purpose of this newsletter is to inform and have some fun while we keep you up to date on what is happening in the wild world of vocabulary.

Each issue we'll include a story of interest, highlight a unit of meaning, and let you know about product announcements and special offers, not just from Dynamic Literacy, but from the cream of the curriculum crop! If you would rather not receive these, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of this email, but we hope you'll give it a try!
Here's the good stuff.
What is Morphology?

You are probably familiar with phonics. A phoneme is a unit of sound (there are 42 in English), and phonics teaches you how to "sound out" a word based on its individual units of sound. A morpheme is a unit of meaning - a prefix, suffix, or root. Morphology is the study of the individual units of meaning in a language and how they fit together. Morphology teaches you how to "mean out" a word based on its individual units of meaning.
