Thank you for your registration for the National Day of Prayer & Fasting and/or the 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting. There is a growing sense of expectation that God is going to do great things in 2014 in our nation. Thank you for the part you will play through your commitment to pray and fast in Canberra or in your location on 2 March and through the 40 days of Lent.

If you registered for a past event but haven't done so for this year, we would encourage you to do so here.

In this letter we would like to inform you of some details and resources that will help you participate in these events starting next weekend.

On the form for the National Day of Prayer & Fasting there were boxes you could tick. To remind you, here are the first five choices you could have made.

1. I will participate in the National Day of Prayer & Fasting and am encouraged to hear about the call for 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting during Lent.

2. I will be coming to Canberra to pray in the Great Hall in Parliament House.

3. I will participate where I am (details of local gatherings are posted on the website).

4. I want to register my church's participation in the National Day of Prayer & Fasting.

5. I want to host a National Day of Prayer & Fasting event in my church or area.

1. Thank you for your commitment to participate in the NDOPF. We hope you will also join us in the 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting 5 March -13 April. See below for details.

2. Some will make the journey to Canberra for the Prayer Service 10 AM - 4PM AEST in the Great Hall in Parliament House on 2 March.

We suggest you read about visiting Parliament House on the official website where you will find information including how to get there and where to park if you are coming by car.
Please arrive half-an-hour early so you can go through security and complete your registration. The event starts at 10 am sharp. You can enter and leave the Great Hall through the day.

We are supporting the Warriors Arise Australian Tour with David Tidy of Prayer Warriors International. He will hold special meetings in Canberra on Saturday 1 March at 7 pm and Tuesday 4 March at the Canberra House of Prayer.

3. Others will participate in events around the country.

These will be posted on the website under resources/local events.
At present there are events in Parliament House Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Bundaberg.

4. Churches around Australia will participate in the NDOPF in a variety of ways.

It might be a 5-10 min segment in the service on 2 March when a statement and prayer are read.
It might be a prayer time after your main service so those who wish can stay and pray for a longer time even fasting over lunch time.
It might involve watching some of the live webcast from the Great Hall (note the time is AEST).
The statement and prayer plus suggestions and a sample program are found at resources/helps for churches and gatherings.
Please share this letter and the resources with your church leaders.

5. Others will host an event or gather others in their churches or networks to pray.

The group can be as small as two prayer partners or a family unit.
You may already be meeting together as a home group or special interest group - consider having a special prayer time on 2 March. Watch some of the live webcast from Canberra together and then pray.
The statement and prayer plus suggestions and a sample program are found at resources/helps for churches and gatherings.

There were also 5 choices you could tick in relation to the 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting.

1. I will be praying every day. Please send me the daily devotion by email.

2. I will ask my church to get involved.

3. If there is a prayer event for the 40 Days in my area I would like to know about it.

4. I will contact my Minister/Priest and provide them information about this.

5. I may be able to act as a coordinator to help promote a prayer event.

The 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting begins on Wednesday 5 March (Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent) and continues until Palm Sunday 13 April. This is a time to prepare our hearts as we move towards Easter.

Follow this 5-Point Prayer Plan as you pray for REVIVAL and sexual purity:

Commit to a deepening and overflowing love for God. 1 John 4:16
Pray on each of these 40 days for your listed friends -that they will be revived from death to new life in Jesus Christ. As God leads, invite them to encounter the life of Jesus at an Easter service. John 10:10
Mobilise your church to pray and partner with God in His revival of our nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Live a sexually pure, holy life by grace and power of a personal relationship with God and pray for a revival of sexual purity in our nation. 1 John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 6:16-7:1
Pray each day for an outpouring of Holy Spirit fire to activate us with God in His revival and transformation of Australia. Acts 2:17

This year the daily devotions have been written by 40 prominent Christian leaders from difference spheres of influence. If you requested these they will be sent daily to your inbox. If you didn't and you want them REGISTER NOW. They will also be available as a PDF document on the 40 Days website.

You can choose to fast as the Lord leads you and according to your experience of fasting in the past. We suggest you try a Daniel Fast. Resources to prepare you and help you are found here.

URGENT FINANCIAL NEED

There are considerable costs involved in such an event.
To hire the Great Hall alone is approx $10,000. Other costs include
printing of advertising, postage, PA and associated equipment hire, videoing for webcast, TV programs, website development and all the administration costs involved in running a national event and calling a nation to pray.

We have received approx $35,000 so far
but much more is required to reach the budget of $120,000.

This can be achieved through major donors, sponsors and churches partnering
but also through many smaller donations.

Are you able to help us now to pay some urgent bills?

or there will be an offering on the day.
