New Requirements for CDL Drivers

New Requirement:

Beginning May 21, 2014, drivers will be required to obtain their FMCSA medical examination from a certified medical examiner that is listed on the National Registry. Designed to improve safety by achieving high-quality medical exams that are consistent with Federal regulations and guidelines, the National Registry will help commercial motor vehicle drivers, and employees, find trained and qualified medical examiners to perform physical qualification examinations

Finding a Qualified Medical Examiner for your CDL Drivers

Where can a driver find a medical examiner who complies with Federal regulations? How do Motor Carriers rest assured that their drivers are truly physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle? The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners exists to answer those questions and allay concerns.

A database of certified medical examiners is a core element of the National Registry. Medical Examiners have to take a training course and pass a certification exam to be listed on the National Registry. The list of certified medical examiners including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and chiropractors, is available on the National Registry website (https://nationalregistry.fmcsa.dot.gov).

Increasing Your Profitable Heating Equipment Sales

How To Increase Your Profitable Heating Equipment Sales One of the best ways to be sure you retain your customers is to sell them new heating equipment. This worthwhile course will help you increase your equipment sales success. In this new seminar Bob Hedden offers a fresh look at the art and science of selling to homeowners. The stale old selling techniques no longer seem to work as well as they did. Today's homeowners are better informed, and more skeptical of unsubstantiated claims and slick closing techniques. The economics of home ownership have changed and we have to change our approach in order to convince customers to invest in our proposals. The Seminar is designed for company owners, top management, heating contractors, sales professionals, sales managers, service managers, service technicians, and anyone else engaged in selling and marketing heating equipment. The course covers a combination of communication skills, technical information about efficiency upgrades, and new sales skills. Cost: $125 First Attendee $85 Each Additional Attendee

The Technician's Role in Keeping Customers Happy

Your Service Technicians and Drivers are the only company employees your customers see in person. Their actions, appearance, what they say and how they say it determines how customers feel about your company and our industry. Bob Hedden designed this seminar to help them be more effective at delighting your customers. In this seminar we explore: how customer attitudes have changed, the importance of people skills, and why working to render great service is so important. We identify what constitutes astounding service, as well as the importance of teamwork. The measure of great service is how a company responds when something goes wrong. We go over what customers want and how to solve problems and handle complaints. We also go over how to handle angry or upset customers. We work on how to make every visit to the customer's home a winner. Cost: $125 First Attendee $85 Each Additional Attendee

BPI Building Science Principles

Building trade professionals, HVAC contractors, students, realtors, home appraisers, home inspectors, or anyone who is considering entering the home performance industry. This introductory class will enlighten you to the potentials of the home performance industry and your business potential within it. By taking this course, you will better understand home performance and if you determine that providing the actual installation services considered under home performance, you should then consider more stringent certification, such as Analyst and Envelope. Business owners or managers who oversee BPI certified programs or employees on the front lines of the residential building trade, who don't need to be certified in the hands-on technical skills learned in other BPI Certification courses, such as Analyst and Envelop, would greatly benefit from this certificate.

Cost: $150 for the one day class (usually 8:30am - 3:00pm) $ 25 to take the online test on site (this cost does not include the cost of the online reference guide, currently $99.00 nor the online testing fee of $99, both of these must be purchased directly through bpi.org)
