Ragamala to Perform "Sacred Earth"  August 9
Exploring Interconnections

Ragamala Dance Company, voted the Twin Cities' Best Dance Company in 2012, will perform their latest piece, Sacred Earth, at the Art Park this Sunday at 6:30 pm. Sacred Earth explores the interconnectedness between human emotions and the environments that shape them. "We draw from the myth and spirituality of our South Indian heritage to make dance landscapes that dwell in opposition-secular and spiritual life, inner and outer worlds, human and natural concerns, rhythm and stillness-to find the transcendence that lies in between," say co-artistic directors (and mother-daughter team) Ranee and Aparna Ramaswamy.

"Together we craft every moment to create intricate and complex worlds that convey a sense of reverence, of unfolding mystery, of universal celebration."

Opening for Ragamala is master Flamenco guitarist Michael Hauser.

Ragamala Dance Company will also present an interactive Family Fun Tuedays program on August 18.
