April is a great time to visit Waynesboro, with lots of outdoor activities including the Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival, Waynesboro One Fly Tournament and the Park to Park Half Marathon! Enjoy some time outdoors this spring, where good nature comes naturally!

Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival

April 12-13

The Virginia Fly Fishing Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, 2014 on the banks of South River.

Over 50 onsite exhibitors will have the latest in fly fishing equipment, fly tying and guide services. Beginner to expert anglers will enjoy nonstop lectures on where, when and how to fly fish in the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Virginia wine tasting, microbreweries, local food and live music will also be featured.

Festival Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM

Admission: $20 Daily, Weekend Pass $35, Kids 16 & under FREE with paying adult

Dogs Welcome: Please remember to bring Pick Up Baggies

Food Selections: BBQ, Crab Cakes, Mediterranean and Louisiana Cuisine

Waynesboro One-Fly Tournament

April 26

The Waynesboro One-Fly is a fly fishing tournament between teams of 2 anglers. Each team competes using a single fly that follows tournament guidelines.

Participants will fish a 3 hour session on an assigned beat with one fly of their choosing. Thee will be an optional fly change at 1 1/2 hours into each session. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team at the event dinner, hosted my Heritage on Main, after the competition. Funds raised from entry fees, sponsorships and auction items will be used for additional stocking of the South River, Trout in the Classroom and habitat improvement on the South River.

Park to Park Half Marathon

April 26

Experience the best views in the Shenandoah Valley on this 13.1 mile point to point course connecting Waynesboro's Ridgeview Park to Augusta County's Stuarts Draft Park. Gently rolling hills, mountain vistas and beautiful serene river crossings make this Park to Park course a must do spring race. The race will be completely supported with fully stocked aid stations and a post race party at the finish line.
