FC Conducts Community Forums
Following the passage of Measure J, Fullerton College is embarking on a planning process that will determine the location and sequencing of projects on its campus. As an initial step in this planning, the college is seeking input from the campus community and the community at-large at a series of open forums. In October, architects will present findings and recommendations from the previous open forums. Guests will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their input about proposed building locations and the sequencing of projects. The campus forum will be on Oct. 20 from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and the community forum will be on Oct. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Both forums will be in Building 200, Room 224. Find out more by visiting the

Campus Book Clubs Welcome New Members
Book clubs at FC are welcoming students, faculty and staff to pick up a book and join them in conversation this semester. The clubs will explore various genres and will challenge readers with subject matter ranging from biology to social justice issues.

The departments of Academic Computing Technology and Campus Safety would like to remind the Fullerton College community not to release personal data, in person or online. Their warnings come in response to recent email phishing scams and reports of petitioners requesting personal data from students in the Quad.

Powers Presents Sabbatical Presentation
English Professor Miguel Powers will present on "Growth Mindset: A Growing Solution for Fixing Education?" at the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees meeting on Sept. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Powers conducted this research while on sabbatical. The BOT meeting takes place at the Anaheim campus located at 1830 W. Romneya Drive, Anaheim in the Board Room.

VRC Hosts Vet Family Day
The Veterans Resource Center will host Vet Family Day on Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-226 and 229. Veterans and dependents from Fullerton College and the surrounding community are encouraged to attend. Participants have the opportunity to attend one of three workshops during either the morning or evening session.

Habits of Mind: Intro to Growth Mindset
The Fullerton College Habits of Mind Initiative will focus on growth mindset this fall, offering one event each month. The September event will be an Introduction to Growth Mindset, facilitated by Miguel Powers on Sept. 24 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Building 300, Room 311. Fullerton College's Kitiny Phumchun and Iris Chu led a 1-2-3 sweep at the 6th annual Early Bird Debate Tournament hosted at Fullerton College on Sept. 18.

Turnitin Workshops
There will be two workshops on how to use turnitin.com to provide feedback to students and grade work. The first is on Sept. 22 from 2 to 3 p.m. and the second is on Sept. 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the TEC. Please register for these workshops on the District Staff Development Calendar.
eLumen Workshops
This week's offerings are as follows, on Sept. 21 there is an eLumen workshop for data entry at 1 p.m. and drop-in help will be available at 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. On Sept. 22, there will be an overview of eLumen for department and course coordinators at 3 p.m. Drop-in help will start at 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. On Sept. 23, there is another overview of eLumen for department and course coordinators at 5 p.m. Drop-in help will begin at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. All workshops are conducted in the TEC.
Equity Summit
Together with the California Community Colleges' Success Network (3CSN), Fullerton College is hosting the regional Equity Summit on Sept. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 515, featuring keynote speaker, Veronica Neal, director of equity, social justice and multicultural education at De Anza College and breakout sessions highlighting successful equity efforts at Fullerton, Moreno Valley, LA Harbor, LA Pierce and West LA colleges. Cultural Intelligence Training
The Staff Development and Diversity and Equity committees are collaborating with the District Staff Development Committee to bring a series of three workshops to Fullerton College this year to help employees prepare to engage the diverse student body. A flyer describing the general outlines of the program is available on the

Showcasing a body of work both broad in scope and stunning in its beauty, the Fullerton College Art Collection exemplifies what a college art collection should be: educational, inspirational, and have the ability to move us all. Gallery hours for the collection are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Special evening hours will be on Sept. 9, 15 and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Twelfth Night directed by Professor Tim Espinosa will be performed on Oct. 8 to 10 and Oct. 16 to 17 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theatre. Tickets during presale will bet $12.50 and tickets at the door will be $15.

On the road, Fullerton held off and upset a feisty Cerritos College team on Saturday night 33-29. Up Next: The Hornets (2-1 overall) will host Orange Coast College at Nathan Shapell Stadium on Sept. 26. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The Lady Hornets played at the Ventura/Santa Barbara Quad Tournament this past weekend winning one out of four matches. FC beat LA Mission College 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-3) and then lost to Ventura College 3-1 (19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25). On Saturday at Santa Barbara, Fullerton lost to Mira Costa College 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 27-29, 25-20), and then fell to Santa Barbara College 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 29-27, 25-13). Up Next: Fullerton (2-3 overall) will host Mt. San Antonio College on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. in the South Gym.
Men's Soccer
Fullerton fell at home to Southwestern College last Thursday 3-2. Up Next: FC (1-5) will host LA Harbor College on Sept. 22. Game time is at 1 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The FC women's soccer team lost a tough one to Orange Coast College at home on Friday 4-0.
Up Next: The Hornets (1-4-1) will travel to Saddleback College on Sept. 22. Game time is at 3 p.m.
Cross Country
The Hornets competed at the SoCal Preview held at Mission Bay in San Diego on Friday. The men's team finished 21st out of 26 teams with a time 1:57:54.25. The women's team placed 23rd out of 24 teams with a finish of 1:59:45.60. Up Next: The Golden West Invitational to be held at Central Park in Huntington Beach on Sept. 25 at 10:45 a.m.
