It's going to be exciting this Thursday night as we talk about the past, present and future for Tiffin and Seneca County, Ohio. 

  • State Development Director David Goodman will talk about the transformation of the Ohio Development Services Agency, about how it helps create jobs through its 70+ economic and community development programs, and what the future holds. 
  • I will share my economic development vision and what some of our larger initiatives will be for the coming year. 
  • Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we will honor some area businesses and partners who have made a big difference in our community.

This month - export/import assistance 
FTZ #151
This month, we're going to focus on 5 programs to help companies with their international business:

1. Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) - Seneca County is part of FTZ #151 which can reduce duties on imported goods/materials

 

2. Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) - Paul Zito, RGP's Vice President of International Development, has excellent advice + connections

 

3. International Trade Assistance Center (ITAC) - The ITAC at the Toledo Chamber is the front gate to all state exporting resources

 

4. Export Internship Program - places OSU student in summer internship at company to develop exports, reimburses 1/2 wages

 

5. Ex-Im Bank - provides pre-export finance, buyer finance, and insurance to help reduce risk of exporting. Zito or ITAC can connect company to it.
