Researcher receives $7.2 million from military to fight drug-resistant bacteria

With help from a cooperative agreement for up to $7.2 million from the U.S. military, researcher Dr. Daniel Kadouri of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is at the forefront of the race to fight drug-resistant bacteria. Kadouri is the principal investigator of a project that examines the therapeutic potential of two types of predatory bacteria that kill germs that have developed a resistance to antibiotics.  LEARN MORE

Nearly $2 million awarded for collaboration to help Newark patients

In a city where 30 percent of residents live below the poverty level and many are disabled, RSDM will help thousands find access to oral health care. Thanks to a $1.75 million federal grant, a new program will place dental students at community-based health clinics in Newark to work with patients and students from other healthcare fields.
