Darlington Upgrade Project

The $620 million Darlington Upgrade Project is the next step in the North-South Corridor plan.  It involves the upgrade of a 2.3 kilometre section of Main South Road between the Southern Expressway and Ayliffes Road.

An Expression of Interest for the construction of the Darlington Upgrade Project was released to prequalified industry groups on 26 March 2015 and closed on 30 April 2015.

The DPTI project team is currently evaluating submissions and it is expected that a major works contract will be awarded to the successful consortia later this year. Major construction works are then expected to commence in late 2015, with the project scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.

If you wish to express your interest in business opportunities that may arise during the project you can register your company and list the specific products and services you provide via the
Industry Capability Network ICN SA website  .

Tonsley - Make it here

The South Australian Government is transforming the 61 hectare former Mitsubishi Motors assembly plant into an integrated employment, education and residential precinct based on collaboration and innovation.

Flinders at Tonsley is a prominent feature on the rapidly developing site.  The six-storey, $120 million School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics is set to teach 2,000 students per year. You will also find the New Venture Institute (NVI) at Tonsley - offering businesses an easy pathway to the university's extensive research, consulting and student resources. It is also home to Hills Industries' Lance Hill Innovation Centre.

Last year, TAFE SA opened its $119 million Sustainable Industries Education Centre (SIEC).  This space provides nearly 45,000sqm of world-class, energy efficient, trade training infrastructure.

Other recent developments on-site include the completion of the global giant Siemens' energy technology maintenance and repair facility.

An attractive Town Square will become the heart of Tonsley's social activity, drawing residents, workers and students to the centre of the site.  The retail precinct is open with some great food choices - Funk, Sakura Sushi and Three Little Pods together with a convenience store, Ezy Mart. The precinct can be accessed from both South Road and Alawoona Avenue so and take a look at the transformation for yourself.

For more information visit  the project website.

Cove Civic Centre

The $13.4 million Cove Civic Centre is located on Ramrod Reserve - adjacent the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre. The combined library, business and community centre will not only deliver much needed community facilities, but will also contribute to sustainable economic development in the South. Join us for the Community Celebration Day on Saturday 1 August as we officially commemorate the opening of the building.

The enterprise hub will house flexible meeting rooms and resources, including a computer training suite and facility wide Wi-Fi for businesses to meet and network. For more information about the facilities or to register an Expression of Interest visit our  Cove Civic Centre page or email [email protected]. Want to help shape the Centre? Marissa would love to hear from you!
